The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that additional war vehicles will be sent to the Middle East to counter a possible attack on Israel by Iran and its allies following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh. It was stated that the US will deploy warships and aircraft to the region; while the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that Tehran will “take harsh revenge at the appropriate time, place and manner.” According to global defense media, the US has directed two large warship strike groups, 6 ballistic missile-capable destroyers, cruisers, fighter jets and two bombers to the region.
2 AIRCRAFT CARRIERS ON THE WAY
As Iran vows revenge following the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, the risk of tensions in the region escalating into a hot war is also increasing. The US is sending additional naval forces to the region to protect Israel from a possible Iranian attack. The additional naval force the US will send includes two battleship strike groups, cruisers with ballistic missile defense capabilities, destroyers with air defense systems, additional ballistic missile defense systems and two bomber aircraft.
