In Istanbul, the product whose price increased the most in September compared to the previous month was pencil, and the product that decreased the most was lemon.
Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the exchange rates for the products with the highest and lowest retail prices in September.
Accordingly, while the retail prices of 129 of the 242 products in the Istanbul Wage Earners Living Index of ITO increased, the prices of 18 products decreased, and the prices of 95 products remained unchanged.
In September, pencils, which are included in the culture, education and entertainment expenditures group, were the product with the highest price increase with 92.94 percent.
Some of the other products with an increase in prices are course and private lesson fees with 79.85 percent from the culture, education and entertainment expenditures group, notebooks with 66.22 percent, school uniforms with 65.33 percent, food expenditures with 46 percent from the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup. Green beans with .68, green pepper from the same group with 39.64 percent, pumpkin with 34.55 percent and school bags from the culture, education and entertainment expenditures group with 30.94 percent.
In September, the price of lemon, which is in the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of the food expenditures group, decreased by 46.58 percent. Thus, lemon became the product whose price decreased the most.
Other products with a decrease in prices are plums with 14.06 percent, melons with 11.83 percent, pears with 7.11 percent from the food expenditures fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup, fuel oil with 6.94 percent from the housing expenditures group, and fuel oil with 3 percent. It was recorded as kerosene with .86 percent and bedroom set with 3.03 percent.
