Local governments also support the work of the Ministry of Trade in the fight against exorbitant prices. Following increasing complaints in the Pursaklar district of Ankara, municipal teams have increased their inspections of markets that are alleged to be charging exorbitant prices.

Labels are examined one by one in markets. Companies found to be irregular are fined. If the same situation continues, the fine is doubled and can go as far as a temporary closure.

After the inspections, a decrease in complaints was also seen. District residents who have been complaining about price differences for a while are happy with the application.
