Before Israel’s army has increased into the city of Gaza, around one million people stayed there. The offensive is now said to have fled almost half of the residents.

Because of the highly controversial Israeli soil offensive in the city of Gaza, many people continue to flee from there. In the meantime, around 480,000 Palestinians had left the largest city in the sealed coastal area, the Israeli army said on request. On Thursday evening, a spokesman had said that 450,000 had fled the city. Before the beginning of the increased military approach of Israel in the city, around one million inhabitants and domestic people lived there.

Local residents confirmed to the German Press Agency that many people fled south from the city, others within the town.

A escape route from the city to the south of the Gaza Strip was closed by the Israeli army as announced. The military had temporarily released the way a few days ago. Now there is only one street that can use people to south.

The Israeli army fights Hamas in the Gaza Strip. According to military information, a high-ranking member of a Hamas battalion is said to have been killed in the recent attacks. In the city of Gaza, soldiers expanded their missions. In the case of attacks, “observation posts that belong to terrorist organizations” were destroyed, the army said. From medical circles in the Gaza Strip it was said that at least 19 people had been killed in Israeli attacks since morning.

The information on both sides cannot currently be checked independently.
