In the second power unit of Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NGS), the installation of the main circulation pumps was completed.
According to a statement from the company, the Russian State Nuclear Energy Organization Rosatom’un built by Akkuyu NGS has been behind another significant stage. In the reactor section of the second power unit of the power plant, the installation of the main circulation pumps was completed.

The last of the pump’s sphere -shaped body was placed in the design position using a tracked crane. The equipment was delivered to the installation area from the open part of the reactor building and placed with the method called “Open Ball”.
Experts, before being placed in the design position of the power unit building next to the special area moved to the equipment, the suspension element to the lower intermediate part and the biological protection ring connected.

Pressure containers of the main circulation pump units are first -class security products. The main circulation pump unit provides the circulation of the refrigerator (purified water) under 300 degrees Celsius temperature and approximately 160 atmospheric pressure at the nuclear power plant. A single power unit of nuclear power plants with Vver-1200 reactors is equipped with four main circulation pump units.
