NASA’s ‘Perseverance’ rover on Mars took a selfie at the borders of the ancient Jezero Crater. In the photo shared by NASA, ‘Perseverance’ was seen posing with red soil in the rugged region called ‘Lac de Charmes’. The portrait, created by combining 61 different photographs taken by a special camera on the rover’s robotic arm, makes it appear as if the vehicle is looking directly at the camera. ‘Perseverance’, which has been searching for traces of ancient life at the microorganism level on Mars since February 2021, has reached the deepest and most scientifically valuable boundaries of the crater with this last journey.
