New routes in tourism: Alternative markets are on the table

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Murat Şeker met with General Manager Ahmet Olmuş and Deputy General Manager Harun Baştürk.

Timuçin Güler, General Director of Promotion of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Sinan Seha Türkseven, General Director of the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), were also present at the reception at Istanbul Atatürk Cultural Center.

ALTERNATIVE MARKETS FOR FLIGHT CAPACITY ARE ON THE AGENDA

In his social media post regarding the acceptance, Minister Ersoy stated that they discussed cooperation opportunities that will support Türkiye’s rise in tourism, promotional activities in target markets and joint steps that will increase travel demand for the country.

Stating that the impact of regional developments on air transportation was also discussed, Ersoy said:

“Within the framework of the effects of the developments in our region on air transportation, we exchanged views on supporting flight capacity with alternative markets and adding new destinations to the flight network.”

A COMMON GOAL IN THE PROMOTION OF Türkiye

Bringing Türkiye’s cultural and tourism richness to wider audiences internationally was among the prominent topics of the meeting. The contributions of THY’s flight network and promotional activities in target markets to Türkiye’s tourism were discussed.

In his post, Ersoy also emphasized the goal of spreading tourism throughout the year and all over Türkiye and said, “We will continue to develop the cooperation between our institutions in order to spread tourism throughout the year and all over our country.” He made a statement.

Minister Ersoy thanked THY management for their visit and their contribution to Turkish tourism.
