With the announcement of April inflation figures, the products whose prices increased and decreased the most were announced. Accordingly, while natural gas and related subscriptions, which saw a price increase of 44.47 percent last month, were the most expensive product, the cheapest product was eggs, with a decrease of 11.14 percent.
Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the Consumer Price Index data for April. Accordingly, the change in CPI in April 2026 was 4.18 percent increase compared to the previous month, 14.64 percent increase compared to December of the previous year, 32.37 percent increase compared to the same month of the previous year and 32.43 percent increase compared to the twelve-month averages.

Some of the products with the highest price increases are; Domestic passenger transportation by air was 19.32 percent, electricity was 16.90 percent, international passenger transportation by air was 16.79 percent, other fuels for personal transportation vehicles were 15.46 percent, dates, figs and tropical fruits were 14.63 percent.
Some of the cheapest products: Ice, ice cream and icy sherbet (sorbet) were 1.29 percent, small appliances used in beverage preparation were 1.21 percent, first-hand motor vehicles were 1.12 percent, small appliances used in cooking and processing food were 0.96 percent, and bicycles were 0.93 percent.
