Scientists in NASA displayed a black hole in the Milky Way Galaxy for the first time. The black hole, which has approximately 7.1 Sun mass and 4 thousand 958 light years away, was reported to move at a speed of 51 kilometers per second in space. Usually black holes are detected by stars rotating in their orbits or other black holes. However, this object was noticed by temporarily distorting the light from a star behind it in a method called ‘gravitational micromerketing’.

Firstly, in 2011, the event was analyzed in detail in the scope of the projects of Micro Local Observations (MOA) projects in Optical Grace Location Test (OGLE) and astrophysics. The Hubble Space Telescope performed 8 separate observations for 6 years to measure the deviation in the star light and the photometry data were collected from 16 different telescope.

Researchers about the discovery, “Hubble observations and the updated photometry with the revised analysis, with a higher accuracy rate, but the previous measurements and the lens is a black hole with the result of a black hole in consistent results,” he said.

Discovery, although the first black hole that is confirmed to move alone, but similar black holes can be found in the universe.
