Russia continues to bomb Ukraine. This time it is particularly hitting the city, which is only a few dozen kilometers from the EU and NATO external border.
According to Kiev’s military, Ukraine was bombed again with missiles and drones by Russia during the night. In some areas in the north of the country, the air raid warning continued until 8:30 a.m. local time (7:30 a.m. CEST) because the air force was still detecting Russian combat drones in the air. The western Ukrainian city of Lviv was particularly badly hit by the attacks. At least 7 people were killed and at least 38 injured there, according to Mayor Andriy Sadowy. Three of the dead were children.
A residential building in the center near the train station caught fire. Two schools in the city, just 70 kilometers from Poland, were also damaged. The railway had to equip some trains in the region with diesel locomotives due to power outages.
On Tuesday, more than 50 people were killed and around 270 injured in a Russian missile attack on the central Ukrainian city of Poltava. Russia has been waging war on Ukraine for two and a half years. Many countries are supplying it with weapons, but the level of support is currently unable to change the military situation in Ukraine’s favor.
