Minister Şimşek met with investors in New York

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek attended three investor meetings hosted by Citibank, one of the leading banks in the US, in New York, where he was present for the 79th UN General Assembly.

While President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with some leaders at the UN General Assembly, which is considered one of the biggest diplomatic events in the world and brings together the leaders of member countries, and met with American and Turkish business people within the framework of the 15th Turkey Investment Conference, Minister Şimşek also held investor meetings.

According to the information received, Mehmet Şimşek attended 3 separate investor meetings hosted by Citibank, one of the leading banks in the US. Senior fund managers and economists from leading portfolio management companies in the US attended the meetings.

In the closed-door meetings, Şimşek shared the progress made in the economic program and his priorities for the upcoming period.

ŞİMŞEK EMPHASIZED TURKEY’S TARGETS TO INCREASE DIRECT INVESTMENTS

Treasury and Finance Minister Şimşek also attended the roundtable meeting organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) Türkiye-USA Business Council (TAİK).

Leading business world representatives from the US and Turkey, investors and senior executives of international organizations also attended the meeting.

In his detailed presentation at the meeting, Şimşek emphasized Turkey’s goals of increasing direct investments and explained in detail the strategic advantages the country possesses.

It was learned that Minister Şimşek will continue his investor meetings in the USA today.
