Bayraktar, St. In his speech at the panel titled “The Role of the Nuclear Energy Industry in Global Development”, organized within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economy Forum (SPIEF), they expect that they expect energy demand to increase at least 4 percent each year in Türkiye.
“When you add elements such as large data, artificial intelligence and digitalization to the equation, this demand will increase even more. We need to meet this demand and invest in our installed power.” Bayraktar said, one -third of energy in Türkiye is met from coal, but the new facility installation has become increasingly difficult, it is difficult to provide financing.
Natural gas is politicized, artificial sanctions and geopolitical developments affected by the attention of Bayraktar, “Natural gas prices, fluctuations, does not give us a bright signal. Hydroelectric production almost reached the end of our potential.” he said.
BAYRAKTAR explained that global interest is shown to renewable energy, “However, these are the intermediate sources. When the sun does not come out, the wind does not blow production problems. So we need a clean base load of energy.” He said.
Bayraktar, emphasizing that nuclear energy comes to the forefront in this field, “Nuclear energy is beyond a dream for Turkey, economic need. For our growing economy, a clean base burden is a need for energy and nuclear energy meets it.” he said.
Akkuyu Nuclear Power Power Power Power Power Power (NGS), which is needed to be an additional 8 reactor, pointed out that 8 reactors are needed, and said that small modular reactors of 5 gigawatts are also necessary to provide affordable energy and increase supply safety.
– “Akkuyu NGS, Driving Power in Our Economy”
Bayraktar said that nuclear energy projects can be evaluated in three basic dimensions and that these are the economic and social dimensions with supply and demand.
Pointing out the importance of the contribution of these projects to the national economy, Bayraktar said, “When we look at Akkuyu NGS, there is a tremendous growth around the project. Thanks to Akkuyu NGS, approximately 300 companies have developed an ecosystem around the project. In addition to thousands of employees in these companies, more than 30 thousand people are currently working in the project field.” He said.
Bayraktar stated that Rosatom has carried out a responsible process and made significant contributions to the society in the city where Akkuyu NGS is located and completed his words as follows:
“We also earn a human capital thanks to the project. We have the chance to export our capabilities to projects in Paks 2 or Egypt in Hungary. Hundreds of students receive education in nuclear fields and human capital is further developing. All these elements of nuclear energy create a driving force for our economy.”
