The countdown has begun for the new minimum wage. The figure to be determined at the end of the negotiations to be held in December will directly affect the income and social payments of millions of people as of January 1, 2027.
TWO SEPARATE SCENARIOS ARE ON THE TABLE FOR MINIMUM WAGE
An official minimum wage figure has not yet been determined for 2027.
However, in the calculations made based on current estimates, two different increase rates stand out.
If the 28.4 percent 2026 inflation forecast in the Medium Term Program is reflected exactly in the wage, the net minimum wage is calculated to be approximately 36 thousand 48 TL and the gross wage to be 42 thousand 410 TL.
37 THOUSAND 536 TL IN THE SECOND SCENARIO
Assuming that the 33.7 percent increase in the resource allocated for tax exemption support in the 2027 budget is reflected in the minimum wage, it is predicted that the net wage may increase to 37 thousand 536 TL and the gross minimum wage may increase to 44 thousand 161 TL.
It should not be forgotten that these figures are not an official proposal yet, but only represent calculations made according to two different assumptions.
