Two Iran-linked oil tankers are leaving the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz ahead of a planned U.S. blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas. The ability of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia to attack northern Israel from there is limited, an Israeli military official said. “Only a small number of terrorists remain in the Bint Jubail area,” it said. The military also killed extremists as they left the local hospital and found numerous rocket launchers and weapons.

France and Great Britain want to hold a conference in the coming days for a possible mission in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Great Britain will not allow itself to be drawn into the Iran war. His country will not support a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, says Starmer on BBC Radio 5 Live. It is crucial to reopen the strait. “I think it’s critical that we open the Strait and open it fully, and that’s what we’ve focused all our efforts on over the last few weeks and that’s what we’re going to continue to do,” Starmer said.
