Trump Putin attacked unusually hard at the weekend. The Kremlin spokesman now wants to have found a possible explanation for this.
The Kremlin reacted to comments from US President Donald Trump about Russia’s head of state Vladimir Putin. Trump’s remark that Putin was “completely crazy” may be due to emotional overload.
“We are really grateful to the Americans and President Trump for their support in the organization and initiation of this negotiating process,” says Kreml spokesman Dmitri Peskow when he is asked about Putin on the statements.
But it is also a moment that “is associated with an emotional overload of everyone and emotional reactions.” Trump had critically commented on Putin after Russia had started the largest air raid on Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
In front of journalists, he said that he did not know “what had happened to hell” with Putin. “I have known him for a long time,” he added. When asked by journalists, whether he would be willing to impose new sanctions against Russia, he replied: “Absolutely, he kills many people, I don’t know what’s wrong with him.”
Trump later explained to the Russian dictator on his online platform Truth Social: “He got completely crazy.” At the same time, the US President warned that every attempt to conquer the entire Ukrainian territory in the course of his invasion in the neighboring country will lead to the “demise” of Russia. He himself “always said that he wants the whole Ukraine, not just a piece of it,” said Trump with reference to Putin. “Maybe that turns out to be right, but if he does it, it will lead to Russia,” he wrote.
