A military spokesman warns civilians in the south of the enemy neighboring country of new attacks. They should quickly leave the area, which Hezbollah has turned into a “battle zone.”
The Israeli army has accused the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah of deliberately hiding assault weapons in civilians’ homes in southern Lebanon. Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said this affected dozens of villages in an area up to 80 kilometers north of the Israeli border.
“Hezbollah has turned southern Lebanon into a war zone,” he said. The organization is thereby endangering the citizens of its own country. He called on all civilians who are near houses in which Hezbollah has hidden weapons to leave the area immediately.
When asked by a journalist whether Israel was planning a ground offensive in southern Lebanon, Hagari said that they would “do everything to allow the inhabitants of northern Israel to return safely to their homes.” Israel had recently significantly increased its attacks in the hostile neighboring country.
