After several attacks in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military wants to observe the ceasefire again. Before that, however, it carried out strikes against enemy commanders.
The Israeli army has announced that it wants to restore the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Israel had previously bombed dozens of targets in the Gaza Strip. According to Israeli information, the target of the attacks were at least 30 commanders of “terrorist organizations” in the Gaza Strip.
According to Palestinian sources, the heavy bombardment by morning had left 91 dead, including dozens of minors. The information from medical circles in the Gaza Strip could not initially be independently verified. If the number is correct, this would be the most deaths since the ceasefire began on October 10th.
According to hospital information, eight people were killed in an attack in the south of the Al-Mawasi area, which is designated as a humanitarian zone. Accordingly, Israel is also said to have bombed tents of displaced people. When asked, the Israeli army initially did not comment on the accusation.
According to medical sources, eight people were also said to have been killed in Nuseirat in the central section of the Gaza Strip. A family’s house was hit there. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported 18 deaths. People are said to still be buried under the rubble of the building. When asked, the Israeli military initially did not provide any comment on this incident.
Israel responded with the heavy bombing to a Hamas attack on Israeli soldiers that killed one of the soldiers, as well as delays in the agreed handover of the bodies of hostages. Hamas denied responsibility for the attack on the soldiers. This could not be independently verified.
Hamas had previously handed over the remains of an already buried Israeli instead of the body of a still missing hostage.
Despite the new escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip, US President Donald Trump affirmed the existence of the peace agreement: Nothing would endanger the ceasefire. Hamas promised that it would “behave.”
