The fragile ceasefire in Gaza is on the brink: According to US President Trump, the Israeli government of Hamas also threatens: If no further hostages are released, the weapons speak again.
In step with US President Donald Trump, the Israeli government of Hamas has now set an ultimatum for freedom of hostage. If the Islamists do not release the next group of hostages until Saturday, the ceasefire could end and the war in the largely destroyed Gaza strip could flare up again, Israel’s head of government Benjamin Netanyahu threatened.
“If Hamas does not return our hostages until Saturday afternoon, the ceasefire will end and the IDF (the army) will resume the intensive struggles until the final defeat of the Hamas,” said Netanyahu in a video address after the end of a session of several hours Security cabinet.
Hamas had recently postponed the next release of Israeli hostages intended for next Saturday. The Palestinian terrorist organization accuses Israel of not adhering to the agreement on ceasefire.
Netanyahu left open how many hostages would have to be released to prevent a new weapons. This remained unclear whether Israel joins the Ultimatum of Trump, after which all Israeli hostages would have to be released by Saturday afternoon. Israeli media reported that the government in Jerusalem demanded the release of all the hostages that were still alive, which should be released during the first phase of the agreements on ceasefire and the hostage deal. That would be nine.
The agreement on the ceasefire and the hostage deal actually stipulate that, during a first phase, 33 hostages are gradually exchanged in Israeli prisons in Israeli prisons. Trump had called for the ceasefire to be revealed if not all hostages should be free by Saturday afternoon. Otherwise “hell breaks off,” he threatened in Washington. The decision about it lies with Israel.

A total of 76 hostages are recorded by their tormentors in the Gaza Strip. According to Israeli information, 36 of them are no longer alive, so in their case it is about the handover of the remains. So far, Hamas has released a total of 16 hostages in five exchange campaigns. In return, Israel released hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
In order to save the ceasefire in Gaza, Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is based on the influence of Arab partner countries. In her conversations with representatives of Saudi Arabia, among other things, “that we will now receive this ceasefire and lead to a real phase of peace,” said the Greens politician in the ARD show “Maischberger”.
With his controversial plan on the future of the Gaza Strip, US President Trump recently caused unrest in the Middle East. Accordingly, the approximately two million residents of the area are to be permanently relocated to Arab countries in the region and the destroyed coastal strip under control of the United States should be transformed into an economically flourishing “Riviera of the Middle East”.
Israel’s neighbors Egypt and Jordan strictly reject the accommodation of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in their territory. Trump then threatened the two tight allies with a stop of financial support.

The government in Cairo has now announced its own reconstruction plan. “Egypt underlines his will to present a comprehensive vision for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, in a way that ensures that the Palestinians can remain in their fatherland and be preserved,” said the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the news platform X. Egypt wanted to work with Trump to create a fair peace in the region. A two-state solution with a Palestinian state on Israel’s side is the only way to stability.
The Egyptian government received support from Jordan. “I have confirmed the unshakable position of Jordan against the expulsion of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and in West Bank. This is the uniform Arabic position,” wrote the Jordanian king Abdullah II after a meeting in Washington on X. “The reconstruction of the gaza strip without Expulsion of the Palestinians and coping with the catastrophic humanitarian situation should be a priority. “
