Israel is increasingly under pressure because of the Gaza War

In a communication by the forum of the hostage, it was said on Thursday: “All of Israel longs for one thing: the implementation of the Witkoff proposal as part of a comprehensive agreement that brings all 48 hostages home and ends this war.” The proposal envisaged a 60-day ceasefire, while the ten hostile hosts, which was initially live in an exchange against Palestinian prisoners, come out of Israeli prisons.

However, Netanyahu now insists on a comprehensive deal in which all hostages are released in one fell swoop, not gradually gradually in several groups as in earlier agreements. According to Israeli information, 20 of the 48 hostages located in Gaza are still alive. The others are therefore concerned with the transfer of their mortal remains.

Netanyahu also insists on a surrender and disarmament of Hamas – which the Islamists reject. According to the latest public statements, it is unclear whether they would be willing to released all the remaining hostages at once. Another point of dispute: Israel wants to keep security control over the Gaza Strip, while Hamas calls for the withdrawal of the Israeli troops.

According to the news portal “Net”, General Staff chief had warned at the session of the security cabinet that taking the city of Gaza would lead to an Israeli military administration. The reason is that the political leadership does not prepare an alternative for the time after the war. A military administration by Israel would give hopes for a two -state solution to give another damper. France and other states want to recognize a state of Palestine at the next UN General Assembly this month.

Israel’s government categorically rejects such recognition. That is why she rejected a possible visit by French President Emmanuel Macron in Israel. Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said that on a phone call with his French colleague Jean-Noël Barrot, he said “no space” for such a visit as long as France sticks to his advance. Official plans for a possible visit to Macron in Israel are not known.
