RTEU Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Department of Energy Systems Engineering Faculty Members Dr. Vagif Nevruzoğlu, Prof.Dr. Dr. Murat Tomakin, Prof.Dr. Dr. Fatih Şaban Beriş, Prof.Dr. Dr. Zeynep Yeşil, Assoc. Dr. Selcuk Demir, metal fatigue, infection and toxic effects in the existing medical implants began to work to eliminate problems such as. At the end of the 3 -year study in the laboratory, scientists developed a design that increases the durability of the implant thanks to the laser micro channels. In this context, the influence of medical implant over time and a permanent solution against the risk of infection was found. The design entitled ‘Metal-Organic Cage (MOF) structure containing the’ metal-Organic Cage (MOF) structure, which extends the duration of the implications for life by using the gap in it, was registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Agency.
“We aim to put it into mass production”
Speaking about the design they developed. Dr. Vagif Nevruzoğlu said that the design where different treatment methods can be applied with a changeable layer over time can be applied to implants in other parts of the body as well as all dental implants. Prof. Dr. Nevruzoğlu, “We have developed a new design for the frequently experienced problem in the implants. According to this design, we used the gap in the implant as an antibacterial storage area. We are working with industrialists. It will not be used for the implant, which will be used forever.
