Economists began to revise the inflation expectations in February after the reduction of patient participation shares in public health institutions.
The amount of patient participation in the state and university hospitals increased by the Health Application Communiqué (SUT) published in January was reduced with a communiqué published in the Official Gazette at the weekend.
Increasing patient participation shares had an update effect above 0.5 points on annual inflation in January, and the economists calculated that the effect continued in February and March and the total effect would rise to 1.5 points annually. Following the reduction of the participation share, the total effect is estimated to be lower than 0.4-0.8 points lower compared to the previous prediction.
Parallel to economists, in February, the monthly inflation estimate, which they estimated to be close to 4 percent, began to reduce below 3 percent.
After this change in the QNB daily bulletin, the CPI inflation forecast for February from 3.6 percent to 3 percent.
