Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated in his written statement that minimizing energy costs in agricultural production and ensuring that producers meet their own electricity needs are important in terms of energy saving and efficiency.
Emphasizing that the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (TKDK) within the Ministry is one of the leading institutions in energy saving in agricultural production, Yumaklı said, “Within the scope of the IPARD Program, jointly financed by Turkey-EU and implemented by TKDK within our Ministry, the installation of renewable energy sources has increased to 75 percent.” In this context, with the support provided by the IPARD Program, while increasing agricultural production, the installation of environmentally friendly and economical renewable energy sources is encouraged to reduce the energy costs of agricultural enterprises. “Entrepreneurs can produce the energy they need by preparing their projects.” made his assessment.
Yumaklı pointed out that real persons and legal entities can apply for these supports provided by the “IPARD Program Diversification of Farm Activities and Business Development Measure” and said:
“A 60 percent grant is given for renewable energy facilities to be established within the scope of the Unlicensed Electricity Production Regulation in the Electricity Market. The grant amount increases up to 70 percent for investments made by young farmers or organic certified farmers. Waste water and waste management, renewable energy and circular economy type An additional 10 percent public contribution is given to the investments, and the maximum grant rate provided to the project cannot exceed 75 percent in total. The entrepreneur or producer can also invest in a renewable energy facility in addition to his current investment in the livestock and food processing sector. If the student wants to include it in his/her project, an additional 10 points are given for these projects.
ENERGY AND AIR QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEMS ARE ALSO SUPPORTED
Stating that while the maximum eligible expenditure amount in the renewable energy sector within the scope of the IPARD Program is 500 thousand euros, grant support can be provided up to 75 percent of this figure, Yumaklı stated that the grant amount to be paid to the project is determined by evaluating and finalizing the total eligible expenditures requested within the scope of ARDSI procedures.
Yumaklı pointed out that all kinds of renewable energy investments (except hydroelectricity) that can be established for the purpose of electricity or heat production, such as photovoltaic solar energy, biomass, wind energy, geothermal energy and concentrated solar power plants and microcogeneration systems, are evaluated within the scope of support and said, “Again, irrigation in places where there is no mains electricity.” In order to meet the energy needed for agricultural production, modern agricultural solar irrigation systems can also be supported. In addition, energy monitoring and analysis systems and air quality control systems in all sectors are also supported within the scope of energy efficiency. falls within its scope.” he said.
IT IS PLANNED TO ANNOUNCE A CALL FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY GRANTS THIS YEAR
Reminding that renewable energy supports within the scope of the IPARD Program started to be provided for the first time in 2017, Minister Yumaklı stated that a total of 2.9 billion lira grant support has been provided to 1294 projects so far and 5.8 billion lira investment has been made thanks to these.
Stating that they expect renewable energy investments to increase further by expanding the IPARD Program to 81 provinces, Yumaklı said:
“To date, ARDSI has supported renewable energy facilities with a total installed capacity of 438 thousand 419 kilowatts. Thanks to these facilities, a total of approximately 1 billion 800 million kilowatt hours, in other words approximately 1.8 million megawatt hours, of energy has been produced to date. Our farmers and entrepreneurs are one On the one hand, they continue to strengthen the country’s agriculture and, on the other hand, to produce their own energy needed in their agricultural enterprises, thanks to the grants they receive from ARDSI. “Within the scope of the ‘Diversification of Farm Activities and Business Development Measure’, it is planned to announce a call for applications in 2025. As the Ministry, we will continue to encourage the installation and use of renewable energy resources with an understanding that prioritizes protecting the environment and our natural resources while supporting our producers.”
