In this period, the goods trade deficit, which was well below the market expectations of $ 142.8 billion, broke a record with $ 162.3 billion in March.

In April, exports of goods increased by 6.3 billion dollars to 188.5 billion dollars, while imports of goods decreased by 68.4 billion dollars to 276.1 billion dollars.

In the period in question, the amount of wholesale stocks did not change on a monthly basis and became 906.9 billion dollars. The amount of retail stocks decreased by 0.1 percent to 803.5 billion dollars.
