ICE agents apparently shoot man in Minneapolis

US immigration agents are searching for migrants in Minneapolis. Now shots were fired again – a man then lay motionless on the ground.

There was apparently another fatal use of firearms on Saturday during the operation of the US immigration authorities ICE in Minneapolis. A video circulating on social media shows at least six ICE agents wrestling and beating a man on a sidewalk. Then at least one shot is fired, whereupon the masked agents let go of the man. He remains motionless on the sidewalk.

The local newspaper Star Tribune reported several shots fired, citing eyewitnesses to the incident. An ambulance then arrived, but the paramedics’ life-saving measures were in vain. The shots were fired on Saturday morning (local time) in the city in the state of Minnesota. There is currently no information available about the condition or identity of the victim.

The US Department of Homeland Security, which is responsible for the operation in Minneapolis, claimed on Fox News that the man killed was armed. “Fox” reporter Bill Melugin shared this photo on X that supposedly shows the man’s weapon:

Thousands of ICE employees have been deployed in Minneapolis for weeks to implement the mass deportations ordered by President Trump. Minneapolis is one of the so-called sanctuary cities that offer protection to migrants without a residence permit and only cooperates to a limited extent with federal immigration authorities. The death of unarmed driver Renee Good on January 7th has recently fueled protests against ICE.

An ICE member killed the mother of three with multiple shots in the face. The Trump administration subsequently portrayed Good as a “domestic terrorist” who was killed by the officer in self-defense after she “ran over” him. However, video footage shows that Good drove her vehicle away from the ICE officer. The officer who shot Good was not suspended. He is not being investigated.
