On Monday evening, shortly after being elected as the US Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump announced that 39-year-old Vance from Ohio would be his “running mate.” Vance comes from a working-class family – and is now not only the author of a bestseller that even the German Chancellor has read, but also a multi-millionaire.
The Republican’s fortune is said to be around five million US dollars, reports the website “celebritynetworth.com”. The now 39-year-old became known to a wider public in 2016 when he published his book “Hillbilly Elegy”, in which he wrote about the challenges of the white working class in the United States. The book was published by Harper Collins. In 2020 and 2021, Vance disclosed his financial data and stated that he had received the equivalent of 318,992 euros in royalties for the book in 2020 and as much as 436,066 euros in 2021.
His salary as a Senator from the US state of Ohio is exactly $174,000 (€159,610) per year, according to the United States Senate website. In addition to his job as a senator, Vance is also a co-founder and partner of the venture capital firm Narya, where he receives an annual salary of $327,000 (€299,957).
In addition to these assets, 39-year-old Vance listed numerous investments as assets in his financial disclosure. Donald Trump’s “running mate” holds shares in more than 100 companies.
