There are only a few days left until we bid farewell to 2024 and move on to 2025. One of the topics of curiosity is the question of what the status of housing rental rates will be. The developments in Syria, inflation, the increase in the minimum wage and whether it will continue to rise or decline with other dynamics in the domestic market are among the questions that preoccupy the citizens’ minds.

Speaking to Haber Global, Real Estate Expert Şerif Nadi Varlı stated that everyone’s expectation right now is to reduce inflation and said, “They do not want to increase the minimum wage too much to reduce inflation. It increased significantly last year and is currently 17 thousand 2 liras. If this increase is too high, it will be directly ours.” “It will also affect our shopping in markets. And shopping in this market will directly increase the Consumer Price Index (CPI) because the rent increase rates directly depend on the announcement of the CPI.”

Stating that 60 percent increases were announced every month after the 25 percent limit was lifted, Varlı said, “It is our hope that the increases will continue at this stability or decrease. There is a 29.4 percent increase in prices (in Istanbul) compared to last year.”
