Holiday traffic: 21 million 67 thousand 377 vehicles passed on the highways

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the Eid al-Adha holiday traffic data. Uraloğlu stated that between 14 and 21 June, 13 million 413 thousand 68 vehicles passed through the highways operated by the General Directorate of Highways, and 7 million 654 thousand 309 vehicles passed through the projects implemented with Public-Private Partnership.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the Eid al-Adha holiday highway usage data. Reminding that the highways affiliated to the General Directorate of Highways provide free service during the Eid al-Adha holiday, Minister Uraloğlu said that a total of 13 million 413 thousand 68 vehicles passed through these highways between 14-21 June.

Stating that the number of vehicles passing through the Mahmutbey-Edirne Highway between 14 and 21 June was 2 million 52 thousand 782, Minister Uraloğlu stated that 4 million 133 thousand 874 vehicles used the Istanbul-Ankara Highway.

Uraloğlu said, “Between 14-21 June, 1 million 200 thousand 182 vehicles passed through our Adana Highway, 1 million 104 thousand 841 vehicles passed through our Mersin Highway, and 1 million 587 thousand 79 vehicles passed through our Çeşme-İzmir-Aydın Highway. A total of 779 thousand 809 vehicles used the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, and a total of 975 thousand 60 vehicles used the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. “During this period, a total of 1 million 579 thousand 441 vehicles passed through the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge connection roads,” he said.

Underlining that more than 7.6 million vehicles passed through the projects implemented with Public-Private Partnership, Minister Uraloğlu said, “3 million 328 thousand 127 vehicles from the Northern Marmara Highway, 258 thousand 970 vehicles from the Malkara Çanakkale Highway, 3 vehicles from the Istanbul-İzmir Highway. “There were 737 thousand 128 vehicles on the Ankara-Niğde Highway, 151 thousand 825 on the Menemen-Aliağa-Çandarlı Highway, and 49 thousand 861 vehicles on the Aydın-Denizli Highway,” he said.

The highest vehicle passage from the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge since its opening was on June 13.

Uraloğlu noted that 580 thousand 369 vehicles passed through the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which reached the highest number of crossings since its opening with 186 thousand 828 vehicles on June 13, in the week of June 14-21, and Osmangazi Bridge with 684 thousand 398 and 1915 Çanakkale Bridge. He said that 130 thousand 753 vehicles used it.

Stating that they offer safe travel opportunities to citizens thanks to their investments in transportation infrastructure, Minister Uraloğlu said, “We offered safe and comfortable travel opportunities to our people this Eid al-Adha with our highways. “Thanks to our projects both operated by our General Directorate of Highways and implemented with Public-Private Partnerships, our citizens were reunited with their loved ones during the holiday,” he said.
