The first aircraft of HÜRJET, developed with national resources by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries, to be delivered to the Air Forces Command, successfully made its first flight on the 104th anniversary of the Great Victory.
Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün made the following statements in his social media post regarding the flight:
“We brought our HÜRJET together with Gök Vatan on the 104th anniversary of the Great Victory. The first HÜRJET to be delivered to our Air Forces Command successfully made its first flight after ground and taxi tests. The will that carried our independence to victory continues to give wings to our national aviation today. I would like to thank our Air Forces Command, TAI team, engineers, technicians and all our stakeholders who contributed to this pride.
I remember with mercy, gratitude and respect all our heroes who fought for our independence, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades in arms. Happy August 30 Victory Day.”

PROCEEDING TO INVENTORY STEP BY STEP
The HÜRJET program, which started in 2017, passed a critical threshold with the first flight on April 25, 2023. Within the scope of the flight test activities carried out with the two prototypes produced, HÜRJET proved its supersonic flight capability by reaching supersonic speeds and attracted great attention both domestically and internationally.
Following these successes, work on the mass production process accelerated. Following the completion of the final assembly line activities of the first HÜRJET to be delivered to the Air Forces Command within the scope of the contract, ground and taxi tests were successfully carried out. After all preparations were completed, the flight decision was taken and HÜRJET, accompanied by the first prototype, completed its first flight safely by staying in the air for 18 minutes.
In addition to the prototypes used in flight and development tests, HÜRJET’s production and testing activities continue as planned within the scope of the program.
HÜRJET continues to stand out with its modern design and high performance as a concrete indicator of Turkish engineering, technical know-how and competence in the defense industry. Production activities within the scope of the program make a significant contribution to Türkiye’s aviation independence, continuity and global competition goals.
While testing and verification activities continue with two prototype aircraft within the scope of the program, production and assembly works for HÜRJETs in delivery configuration continue simultaneously.
