At TEKNOFEST, visitors have the opportunity to fly, albeit virtually, with realistic simulation experiences. Flight experiences in simulators offer both entertaining and educational moments to participants. While the participants of the festival learn the flight techniques of Hürkuş, Hürjet, Aksungur, Kaan and Akıncı, accompanied by professional instructors, they also experience flying in various weather conditions in the virtual environment. The happiness of the young people who participated in the simulator was literally visible in their eyes.
Within the framework of this year’s theme of TEKNOFEST, “Shaping the Future with Technology”, it is aimed to increase the interest of young people in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields; Workshops and competitions held at the festival also offered participants the opportunity to develop their skills in different technology disciplines.
“WE FLYED A PHOENIX TODAY”
Sena Diken, who had experience in the ANKA simulator, stated that this experience was very fun and different and said, “We are visiting the area here. We came to ANKA today and flew ANKA. At first you lift the plane, then it gives an error and you encounter various puzzles to solve it. At the end, the plane gets hacked and we save the plane. In the last part, the text “UAV can never be hacked, this was just an experiment” appeared on the screen. I really liked this article. “It was a very fun and different experience,” he said.
“WE ARE GREATLY PROUD”
Salih Yıldız, who attended TEKNOFEST for the first time and experienced the Hürjet simulator, said, “This is my first time attending TEKNOFEST. I had the chance to experience the Hürjet simulator. We are happy and proud. It was pretty fun. I think it’s close to the same. Of course, G force is missing, but endless thanks to everyone who provided these opportunities. Maybe it’s a little less than the real thing, but since I experienced it for the first time, my pulse increased while doing a somersault. We get goosebumps when we see it in the sky. “We are very proud that it is local and national,” he said.
“ALL AIRPLANES HAVE SIMULATORS”
Stating that they received great interest from children and young people, technician Mehmet Bolat said, “We brought here to test and try the simulator systems of the aircraft we produce for Fixed Wing unmanned aerial vehicles and helicopter systems, which we call rotary wing. All of the aircraft we produce have their own simulators. While training with the simulator, we also follow the development processes and training. The interest is very intense. Especially young people and children are very interested. They want to try simulators. They are curious about KAAN and our other aircraft and want to use them. They ask questions and experience. We have small demos for certain flight routes and shots in the simulators. “We make those who come to implement them,” he said.
