Foreign trade with Turkish Lira exceeded 1.2 trillion liras

Foreign trade volume in Turkish lira increased by 13 percent in the January-September period compared to the same period last year, reaching 1 trillion 200 billion 822 million lira.

According to the AA correspondent’s compilation of Ministry of Commerce data, there was a significant increase in foreign trade in Turkish lira on an annual basis in the 9-month period of the year.

Exports in Turkish lira decreased by 6 percent in January compared to the same month last year, reaching 24 billion 727 million liras. Imports increased by 18.8 percent to 83 billion 526 million lira in the first month of the year. Thus, foreign trade volume in the first month of the year amounted to 108 billion 253 million lira.

In the second month of the year, exports in Turkish lira decreased by 2.1 percent compared to February of last year, reaching 27 billion 693 million liras, while imports increased by 10.5 percent, reaching 92 billion 868 million liras. In February, foreign trade volume was recorded as 120 billion 561 million lira.

HIGH INCREASE IN EXPORTS IN APRIL AND SEPTEMBER

While exports in Turkish lira increased by 2.6 percent in March compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 31 billion 658 million liras, imports increased by 15.1 percent and reached 110 billion 185 million liras. Thus, the volume of foreign trade with Turkish lira reached 141 billion 843 million lira in March.

The increase in exports in Turkish lira in April attracted attention. In the month in question, exports increased by 57.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 38 billion 215 million liras, while imports increased by 10.8 percent, reaching 107 billion 669 million liras. Foreign trade volume in April was calculated as 145 billion 884 million lira.

In May, exports in Turkish lira increased by 2.6 percent compared to the same month last year and reached 29 billion 432 million liras, while imports decreased by 8.4 percent to 82 billion 453 million liras. Thus, the foreign trade volume was recorded as 111 billion 885 million lira in May.

Exports in Turkish lira increased by 26 percent in June compared to the same month of 2025, reaching 29 billion 954 million liras, and imports increased by 16.3 percent, reaching 114 billion 556 million liras. During this period, foreign trade volume amounted to 144 billion 510 million lira.

In July, exports in Turkish lira reached 37 billion 166 million lira, an increase of 32.1 percent compared to the same month last year. During this period, imports increased by 2.7 percent and reached 107 billion 127 million liras, while the trade volume reached 144 billion 293 million liras.

In August, exports in Turkish lira increased by 49.3 percent on an annual basis, reaching 37 billion 894 million lira. Imports were determined as 96 billion 424 million liras, with an increase of 9.1 percent, and foreign trade volume was determined as 134 billion 318 million liras.

Exports in Turkish lira increased by 58.6 percent in September compared to the same month last year, reaching 43 billion 184 million lira. Imports increased by 15.8 percent, reaching 106 billion 91 million liras, and foreign trade volume was recorded as 149 billion 275 million liras.

9-MONTH FOREIGN TRADE VOLUME INCREASED BY 13 PERCENT

In the January-September period of this year, exports in Turkish lira increased by 23.4 percent compared to the same period last year, from 242 billion 952 million lira to 299 billion 923 million lira. In the same period, imports reached 900 billion 899 million liras, an increase of 9.8 percent from 820 billion 176 million liras.

Thus, the foreign trade volume with Turkish lira increased by 13 percent on an annual basis in the January-September period, from 1 trillion 63 billion 128 million lira to 1 trillion 200 billion 822 million lira.
