In the statement made by Sport Interactive, it was said:
“Following consideration, Sports Interactive has made the difficult decision to postpone the release of Football Manager 25 further.
After discussions with SEGA, our licensors and partners, we have decided that the best solution is to postpone the game’s release until March 2025. Release dates specific to the platform will be announced after confirmation.
In our last September Development Update report, we stated that we needed to delay FM25’s release date to give ourselves more time to deliver the best possible experience in the first part of Football Manager’s new era.
This additional time was not sufficient to ensure that the game quality and experience met your expectations and our high standards.
In the previous blog, we said that it was a difficult development process for the studio. Although everyone in the team worked at an incredible pace and did their best, many things went slower than we expected.
Time was already tight and, as you rightly point out in many of your recent comments, we were being too hasty and in danger of compromising our usual standards. This put a lot of pressure on everyone working at the studio, who were passionately committed to delivering the best game possible.
The FM25 represents the biggest technical and visual advancement in the series in a generation. We cannot jeopardize the quality of this important milestone in the history of the Football Manager game by rushing to release it in November.
Of course, this wasn’t something any of us expected with seven weeks until the game’s release, but in the spirit of our studio values, we always look at the big picture, and the big picture here is that we needed this additional time to deliver a game we can all be proud of.

There was a point you noted was missing in our September 30 announcement where we talked about Enhanced Access on PC/Mac. The Enhanced Access feature will be available before the new release date and we will let you know as soon as we know for sure how long that will be. We plan to launch the new game at the end of January 2025.
We are acutely aware that this will leave you very disappointed. We are experiencing the same disappointment and we are very sorry.
