The Ministry of Trade announced export data for July on a provincial basis. Accordingly, Istanbul was the province with the highest exports in July with $6 billion 586 million. The city’s exports increased by 53.8 percent compared to the same month last year. Istanbul was followed by Kocaeli with $2 billion 296 million, Izmir with $1 billion 808 million, Bursa with $1 billion 277 million and Tekirdağ with $1 billion 135 million.
When the provinces with the highest increase in exports were examined compared to the same month last year, Istanbul came in first with an increase of $2 billion 304 million. Istanbul was followed by Çorum with an increase of $323 million, Tekirdağ with an increase of $190 million, Sakarya with an increase of $153 million and Eskişehir with an increase of $76 million.
TOP EXPORT COUNTRIES
In Istanbul’s exports, England ranked first with $567 million 246 thousand. This country was followed by Germany with $483 million 116 thousand and the USA with $394 million 513 thousand. Kocaeli made the most exports to England with $241 million 843 thousand. This country was followed by Slovenia with $149 million 524 thousand and Germany with $136 million 9 thousand. The country to which Izmir exported the most was Germany with $198 million 693 thousand. This country was followed by the USA with $178 million 167 thousand and the Netherlands with $123 million 456 thousand. Accordingly, in the January-July period, 20 provinces exported over $1 billion and 51 provinces increased their exports.
