The US military plans to equip its military personnel with the latest technological equipment and artificial intelligence communication devices by 2025. Projects to implant chips into the brains of US soldiers to enable fast and effective communication on the battlefield are among the areas that have been worked on for over a year. In the latest exercise held in the country, experienced soldiers who fought in the old-fashioned way managed to “easily pass” a military unit equipped with the latest technology. The exercise also raised questions in the Pentagon.

TECHNOLOGY IS BEEN REVIVED

The Pentagon’s Special Operations Command conducted a shocking exercise at Fort Johnson Military Base in the dense forests of Louisiana. The exercise pitted the military units equipped with the latest technology in the United States against a six-person, old-school, low-tech, but intense combat and field experience special operations unit called “Ghost”. In the drill, old-school soldiers, equipped with live satellite images, UAV scanning and special computers with artificial intelligence, seized the command post in a few hours and took the command staff captive.

In the exercise held at the US Fort Johnson Military Base, old-school experienced soldiers managed to both bypass and defeat a unit equipped with artificial intelligence and technology.

SYSTEM DISABLED

While it was stated that the exercise had a shocking effect on the Pentagon, the report prepared on the subject stated that “while waiting for the approval or calculations of the artificial intelligence caused technological units to lose time, experienced veteran soldiers did not hesitate at any step thanks to their field experience.” comment was included.

Again, according to the information in the report, despite having numerous ground-diverting devices in order to prevent the location of technologically superior units, the “Ghost Unit”, consisting of six special operations soldiers, did not follow this data but instead went directly to the main power source and cut off the electronic flow. The Ghost Unit also turned off its own electronic devices and hid their batteries in different places in the forest in order to make plans as soon as they completed the environmental reconnaissance, observation and tracking process. Thanks to this, the Unit became untrackable.

TECHNOLOGY SHOWED WEAKNESS

According to the information compiled by the publication, the artificial intelligence offered many alternatives to gather all the soldiers in the technologically equipped unit at one point and put them in an attack position. While the unit’s commander was evaluating these alternatives, the Ghost unit was divided into groups of two and each group attacked from different points far from each other. The AI also constantly refreshed the data on the area’s map, causing frequent interruptions to the technological alliance, while the Ghost alliance “never looked at the map again” after making its attack plan.

PENTAGON IS SURPRISED!

Whenever the AI determined the possible locations of the Ghost unit, it warned that artillery, missile and rocket fire should be made. According to the report, the Ghost alliance “used old methods to either hide their locations or leave behind fake data. Following the report, Pentagon officials are also commenting that they may focus on field experience training for special operations units rather than technology.
