6:02 p.m.: Donald Trump also took the oath of office. He is now officially the 47th President of the United States of America.
6:00 p.m.: JD Vance is sworn in as Vice President of the United States.
5:53 p.m.: Cardinal Timothy Dolan says a prayer – and calls for the unity of the United States. He includes Donald Trump, Joe Biden, US military personnel and US senators in his prayers. In particular, he asks for wisdom so that Donald Trump will make the right decisions in the future.
After him, Reverend Franklin Graham also said a prayer. He asks God to watch over Donald Trump and bless the United States through him. Graham is considered an absolute hardliner on the evangelical right.
