In cruise tourism, 573 ships anchored in 15 ports in the January-July period. 890,129 tourists visited different port cities in Turkey with cruise ships. Kuşadası was the port that hosted the most tourists with ships, with 257 cruise ships and 401,417 passengers. In cruise tourism, the number of passengers in the January-July period increased by 29 percent compared to the previous year. In the same period last year, 691,958 tourists came to Turkey with 574 cruise ships.
RECORD AFTER 9 YEARS
The number of arriving passengers between January and July was the year with the highest number of tourists after 2015. The number of passengers between January and July of 2015 was recorded as 939 thousand 518. The number of passengers by year after 2015 is as follows; “361 thousand 815 in 2016, 161 thousand 138 in 2017, 112 thousand 357 in 2018, 131 thousand 831 in 2019, 1824 in 2020, 5 thousand 935 in 2021, 376 thousand 924 in 2022.”
HIGHEST PASSENGERS IN 11 YEARS
In July, 315,620 passengers came to Turkey on 158 cruise ships. The number of passengers in the same period last year was recorded as 209,033. After 2013, July was the month in which the most cruise tourists arrived. In July 2013, 326,848 tourists came to Turkey. The number of cruise passengers in July by year is as follows; “121,107 in 2022, 4,699 in 2021, 47,756 in 2019, 38,979 in 2018, 43,268 in 2017, 75,897 in 2016, 291,799 in 2015, 266,900 in 2014, 326,848 in 2013, 338,801 in 2012.”
