George Kurtz, CEO of CrowdStrike, which provides cybersecurity services to Microsoft, said in a statement on his X account that Mac and Linux computers were not affected by the outage.

Kurtz said CrowdStrike is actively working with customers affected by an issue found in a single content update for Windows hosts.

“This is not a security incident or a cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated, and a fix has been deployed.”

Kurtz said they direct customers to the support portal for the latest updates and will continue to provide ongoing updates. “We also recommend that organizations ensure they are communicating with CrowdStrike representatives through official channels. Our team is fully mobilized to ensure the security and stability of CrowdStrike customers.”
