The phenomenon, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has returned with a different concept, this time involving ordinary people, after his controversial project in which he brought together 50 famous broadcasters for a million-dollar prize. In the competition, participants were asked to stay in a supermarket purchase for as long as possible.
Originally, the prize was set at $250,000 to be given to the last person to leave the market. However, the competition quickly attracted attention and some of the dozens of people present withdrew before it even started. Those who had to work or found the conditions harsh did not continue the competition. Participants who withdrew were given their shopping free of charge.
The 37 people who remained in the competition started living in the supermarket under increasingly difficult conditions. As the days progressed, the competition got tougher. To eliminate their competitors, participants resorted to methods such as preventing them from sleeping by making noise at night or making it difficult to access essential products.
The difficult process continued for about two months. On day 67, MrBeast reappeared and radically changed the rules of the contest. He announced to the four finalists that he would quadruple the prize to $1 million if they stayed in prison one more year.
However, this offer came with a new condition. Instead of relying individually, contestants now have to act as a team and consume all the products in the supermarket. So rivals now have to be teammates.
In the new system, competitors will be provided with a more livable environment by providing facilities such as trainers, nutritionists, medical teams, gym, shower and bed.
Juan, one of the favorites in the competition, expressed his concern about this change. Stating that he was not keen on the idea of being away from his family for a year, the contestant stated that it was very difficult for four people to consume the entire market.
The competition, where the winner has not been announced yet, continues to attract great attention, reaching more than 70 million views on YouTube.
