According to the statement made by the Competition Authority, the preliminary investigation initiated about the company in January was concluded by the Board.
The Board, which discussed the information, documents and findings obtained in the preliminary investigation, found the findings serious and sufficient and decided to open an investigation against Haribo.
The investigation was opened to determine whether the company violated the Law on the Protection of Competition regarding the allegations that it prevented competition in the relevant market by abusing its dominant position in the soft candy market, excluded its competitors with practices and behaviors that led to de facto exclusivity, and interfered with the resale prices of sales points.
The investigation decisions taken by the Board do not mean that the undertakings under investigation have violated the relevant law and are or will face sanctions.
