Donald Trump has a large area saved in the US state apparatus. The large CIA foreign intelligence agency is also affected. The director selected by Trump wants to “act quickly”.

According to a report, the US foreign intelligence agency CIA plans to reduce around 1,200 jobs in the government apparatus.

The government informed the government about the planned cuts at the CIA, reported the “Washington Post” on Friday. HR reduction extends over several years. It should not be achieved by layoffs, but by fewer new settings. The CIA employs an estimated more than 20,000 people.

A spokesman for the CIA did not confirm the report at first, but said that CIA director John Ratcliffe “quickly acts to ensure that the CIA workforce corresponds to the government’s national security priorities”. The steps are “part of a holistic strategy”. Among other things, the authority should be awarded “new swing”.

At the beginning of the year, the CIA was the first US secret service to participate in a voluntary personnel loss program initiated by President Trump. Since taking office in January, Trump has been promoting a radical reduction of positions and costs for the federal authorities.

Many of the proposed cuts can be attributed to the government department for state efficiency (Doge) with US tech billionaire Elon Musk as a driving force. So far, more than 200,000 employees have left the civil service.
