Cemre Foundation aims to bring a strong breath to Türkiye’s environmental vision from the civil society side. In the statement, it was stated that Cemre Foundation aims to take the effort to protect the environment beyond a technical necessity in a period when environmental problems, disasters and social vulnerabilities have become the responsibility of every individual, and it was noted that the foundation set out with an understanding based on volunteering to fill the gap between “being aware” and “taking responsibility”.
SOCIAL SOLIDARITY
In the statement, it was stated that in the folk belief, cemre, which brings abundance by falling into the air, water and soil, represents the awareness of responsibility that falls on people’s mind, heart and actions in the vision of the foundation. In the statement, it was noted that for the Foundation, cemre is also a feeling of goodness and responsibility that falls within the human being, and in this context, it was stated that environmental awareness, disaster preparedness and social solidarity are considered as complementary parts of each other.
NET ZERO
In the statement, it was stated that Cemre Foundation will carry out its activities on four main axes fully compatible with Türkiye’s “2053 Net Zero Emission” and “Green Development Revolution” targets, and the following statements were made: “‘Green Transformation Cemre’ will focus on environmental policies centering on sustainable living and resource efficiency. ‘Emergency and Disaster Response Cemre’ will strengthen social solidarity in the face of disasters due to climate changes and develop volunteer-based intervention capacity. ‘Common Mind.’ ‘Cemresi’ will deepen the processes of producing common solutions by bringing together different stakeholders. ‘New Horizons Cemresi’ will be based on developing long-term strategies and applicable programs for environmental issues.”
In the statement, it was emphasized that Cemre Foundation has implemented comprehensive training and certification programs in order to transform environmental awareness into a permanent and measurable competence. It was stated in the statement that within the scope of these programs, which aim to raise young generations as climate leaders who take responsibility in the field of environment, scientific training will be given on topics such as water efficiency, carbon footprint management and biodiversity protection.
In the statement, it was stated that these studies will contribute to the development of the new generation professional human resources, defined as “green collar”, needed in the green transformation process.
