“Ladies and Gentlemen,
I hereby cancel my supplementary care insurance with the number (insurance number) on time. Please confirm the termination in writing, stating the termination date.
Best regards,
(Name, place, date, signature) “
If you are dissatisfied with your existing supplementary care insurance or can no longer bear the contributions, it does not have to be the termination right away. It is often worth talking to the insurer about alternatives.
Some insurers also offer to let the contract rest for a certain time. No contributions are due in this phase, but there is no insurance coverage. This option is suitable if your financial burden is only temporary – for example due to unemployment or illness.
A tariff change within your existing contract can also be a solution. A cheaper tariff may be available, which offers fewer services, but remains affordable. It is important that the change does not require a new health check and that the start of the contract has been preserved. There is no possibility of putting the supplementary care insurance for an unlimited contribution.
