The Land Registry and Cadastre Directorate answered the question “How is a Family Residence Annotation placed? Can I have a family residence annotation placed after divorce?”
For the family residence annotation, a certificate of residence obtained from the central population administration system or the population directorate and a copy of the population record showing marital status are required. In addition, when the block/parcel information in the land registry of the real estate for which the family residence annotation needs to be processed needs to be matched with the settlement data obtained from MERNIS, a document proving the situation must be obtained from institutions such as the municipality, muhtar’s office, cadastre directorate, apartment management, LİHKAB, etc.
The family home is the place where the spouses carry out their living activities. The spouses jointly manage and conduct the marriage union. Since the family unit is broken after the spouses divorce, a family home record cannot be placed after the divorce.
