While the BIST 100 index decreased by 12.05 points compared to the previous closing, the total transaction volume was 176.6 billion lira.
The banking index gained 1.33 percent and the holding index gained 0.49 percent.
Among the sector indices, the biggest gainer was the metal main industry with 2.56 percent, and the biggest loser was financial leasing factoring with 9.26 percent.
Global markets are mixed in an environment where the news flow regarding the developments in the Middle East is closely followed and expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will increase interest rates in the short term have weakened after the annual inflation in the US was below expectations in June.
According to the data announced today in the USA, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased by 0.4 percent on a monthly basis in June, while it increased by 3.5 percent on an annual basis, below expectations. Thus, CPI decreased on a monthly basis for the first time since May 2020.
Analysts stated that domestic markets will be closed tomorrow, and that an intense data agenda will be followed abroad, especially the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the USA and the presentation of Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh, and noted that technically, 14,000 and 13,900 points in the BIST 100 index are support, and 14,200 and 14,300 points are resistance.
