The Chinese Ganfeng Lithium Group, one of the world’s largest companies in lithium battery production and traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with a value of $26 billion, announced that it will invest $500 million in Turkey.
In the statement made by Ganfeng, it was reported that an agreement was reached with Yiğit Akü, one of the largest companies in Turkey in its field and a lead-acid battery manufacturer, to establish a joint venture, and that 5GWh of lithium batteries will be produced annually in the facility planned to be established in Turkey.
400 NEW EMPLOYMENT
According to the statement made by Yiğit Akü to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP); The factory, which will have a design capacity of 5 GWh, will include lithium battery cell production lines and battery pack production lines to be determined in accordance with the market development plan.
The facility is expected to consist of 132,200 square meters of indoor space, with a total equipment investment of approximately $202.1 million and a staff of 400.
The agreement covers lithium-ion battery cells, battery modules, battery packs, energy storage systems, battery management systems, energy management systems, and recycling of lithium-ion batteries.
