Recently, it seems that complaints about ATMs have increased on social media. One of the main reasons for this is inflation.
According to the information compiled by Ekonomim.com from CBRT and BKM data, ATMs lost their lives to inflation.
The 200 TL banknote, which was put into circulation in 2009, still remains the largest amount. Although 500 and 1000 TL banknotes are talked about with increasing inflation in 2021, there is still no work.
LOAD OF ATMS INCREASED
While 200 TL was the largest banknote, the average amount per transaction of cash withdrawal transactions with debit and credit cards increased significantly between 2015 and 2024.
While an average of 410 TL was made through debit cards in 2015, the amount per transaction increased by 523 percent in 2024 (as of August), reaching 2,553 TL. The average domestic cash withdrawal for domestic credit cards increased from 627 TL in 2015 at the beginning of the transaction to 4,282 TL in 2024, increasing by 583 percent.
