The “Housing Project of the Century”, carried out by the Mass Housing Administration (TOKİ) under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, aims to enable low-income citizens to own homes under affordable conditions.
Within the scope of the project, applications for 500 thousand social housing units, planned by taking into account the cities’ housing needs, population density and economic structure, were received between 10 November and 19 December.
Approximately 5 million 300 thousand applications were considered valid for the project, to which a total of 8 million 800 thousand people applied. The provinces with the most applications were Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
While the draw process starts on December 29, the beneficiaries are announced gradually in line with the calendar determined on a provincial basis.
