Additional investment of 5 billion Euros from French companies to Türkiye

French Delegate Minister Responsible for Foreign Trade and Economic Attraction Nicolas Forissier stated that French companies have made very intense and long-term investments in Türkiye, and said, “Between 2020 and 2024, French companies invested 3.6 billion euros, and another 5 billion euros of investment will be added to this by 2027.” he said.

Turkey-France 8th Term Economic and Trade Joint Committee (JETCO) Meeting was held at the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) Headquarters with the participation of Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat and French Minister Responsible for Foreign Trade and Economic Attraction Nicolas Forissier.

In his speech here, Minister Nicolas Forissier stated that they came together on the occasion of the meeting and said that there are opportunities to re-strengthen the relations between Türkiye and France after the Covid-19 epidemic.

Stating that they have built very strong relations between Türkiye and France, Forissier said, “The personal connections between us and our delegations will, of course, strengthen this even further.” he said.

Forissier stated that the JETCO meeting held today revealed a truly exceptional dynamism between the countries and said, “The Turkey-France Economic and Trade Partnership Committee represents a very important step. This meeting represents an extremely important stage in the mutual cooperation between our countries. Next year, we will host you in France for the 9th Term Meeting of JETCO. It is a great source of happiness for us to host you in France.” he said.

“FRENCH COMPANIES PROVIDE DIRECTLY AND INDIRECTLY 400 THOUSAND EMPLOYMENT IN TOTAL”

Minister Nicolas Forissier stated that they aim to strengthen relations between the two countries and achieve concrete results, and noted that they discussed strategic issues and that these issues will strengthen the economic cooperation between the two countries.

Pointing out the importance of mutual investments, Forissier said, “As of 2025, there is a trade volume of 24 billion euros between the two countries. This is a record between Turkey and France. Of course, industrial products have a very important weight. There is a balance between our commercial relations. Our economic cooperation is growing and expanding strongly.” made the statement.

Stating that French companies have a very important place in Türkiye, Forissier said, “According to a recent research, French companies contribute significantly to the Turkish economy. French companies directly and indirectly provide 400 thousand jobs. In this sense, we would like to emphasize that French companies contribute to employment in Türkiye. This shows how much we trust Türkiye.” he said.

“FRENCH COMPANIES WILL INVEST ANOTHER 5 BILLION EUROS BY 2027”

Minister Forissier pointed out France’s intense social and economic presence in Türkiye and said that France wanted to further strengthen cooperation.

Emphasizing that French companies have made very intense and long-term investments in Türkiye, Forissier said, “Between 2020 and 2024, French companies invested 3.6 billion euros, and another 5 billion euros of investment will be added to this by 2027.” he said.

Forissier underlined that the French public investment bank Bpifrance provided 1.8 billion financing opportunities in Türkiye and said, “Limak Group and Bpifrance will realize a new project worth 150 million euros. Rönesans Group and Bpifrance will sign an agreement of 50 million euros. These are extremely important steps. This shows the strong ties between Turkish and French companies. The value that Turkish companies attach to the economic experience of France is also obvious.” he said.

“TURKISH COMPANIES ARE INCREASING THEIR PRESENCE AT THE INTERNATIONAL LEVEL”

Minister Nicolas Forissier stated that the Turkish economy continues to grow strongly and that Turkish companies are increasing their presence at the international level.

Stating that Turkish companies want their investments in France to be further strengthened, Forissier said, “We are open to providing all kinds of support to all Turkish companies that want to invest in France. Our goal is to further strengthen our cooperation here. France is a very attractive investment destination. France has become the number one investment destination in Europe.” he said.

Noting that France can be an important partner for Turkish companies to become stronger worldwide, he concluded his words as follows:

“Turkey will host the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) event to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. I congratulate Türkiye in this context. This will be an extremely important meeting. Other countries will have the opportunity to observe and learn better about Türkiye’s efforts in this field. The COP31 conference is truly a unique opportunity to strengthen mutual cooperation.”
