Buyers and sellers meet at the second-hand car market held every Saturday at Samsun Second Hand Automotive Dealers Site. Vehicles costing up to 700 thousand liras are more in demand in the market.
Samsun Second Hand Automotive Dealers Site President İbrahim Kınık said that there is a movement in cars in the range of 400 to 700 thousand TL. Kınık said, “There has been a movement for about 15-20 days. Of course, this movement is not in high-priced cars. There is movement in middle-class cars. Something started to happen in the cars that people can afford. People had expectations that the interest rates would decrease. However, the interest rates did not decrease. Citizens also need cars. “They started looking at vehicles according to their budget. There is a movement in cars in the range of 400 to 700 thousand TL,” he said.
“IF THERE IS AN INTEREST REDUCTION, THE MARKET WILL REVIVE”
Gallery owner Orhan Çakıcı said, “Currently, since the interest rates are high, vehicles in the 300-500 band are selling well. Apart from that, there are campaigns on new vehicles. Consumers generally look for vehicles with low mileage. There is some movement right now. “I think the market will become more active if there is an interest rate cut at the end of the year,” he said.
“PEOPLE ASK FOR PRICES FROM CARS ACCORDING TO THEIR NEEDS”
Hasan Çam, who came to the market to buy a car, said, “We are looking for a vehicle within our budget. Of course, beat-up vehicles are cheaper, but some are more than their worth, some hide their flaws. It’s hard to find honest people. Some of them are so beautiful, they say everything. Some also hide it. People try to sell it at the price they have in mind, but they never think about whether their car will fetch that price. They ask for a price from the car according to their needs. We will continue to search. “If we find something worth our money, then we will buy it,” he said.
Bektaş Dağ, who does buying and selling business in the market, said, “Old car prices are very high. They exaggerated the prices. This negatively affects the market.”
