A small meteorite that will enter the Earth’s gravitational force will temporarily become a satellite of our planet as a “little Moon”. According to BBC Turkish; This visitor from space will orbit Earth for several months, starting on September 29, and then fly away again.

Unfortunately, the ‘Second Moon’ is too small to see with the naked eye. If you have a professional telescope and can look in the right place, you will soon be able to see it.

This meteorite was first detected by NASA’s asteroid warning system on August 7. Scientists studied the orbit of the meteorite and it was determined that the object named ‘2024 PT5’ broke away from the Arjuna asteroid belt.

These types of asteroids can sometimes come relatively close to the Earth and can approach up to 4.5 million kilometers.

According to scientists, if a meteorite has a relatively slow motion of 3,540 kilometers per hour, the Earth’s gravitational force can temporarily add this object to its orbit.

BETWEEN 29 SEPTEMBER AND 25 NOVEMBER

This is exactly what will happen to this meteorite that will accompany the Earth for two months. Dr. hosts the podcast program Awesome Astronomy. In her statement to the BBC, Jennifer Millard noted that the meteorite will revolve around the Earth between September 29 and November 25.
