Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that Türkiye will officially announce its transition to 5G at a ceremony to be held at the Presidential Complex tomorrow, with the attendance of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

In his written statement on the subject, Uraloğlu stated that Türkiye has reached a new turning point in the history of mobile communications.

Minister Uraloğlu noted that a critical threshold has been reached in the 32-year mobile communication journey and that this adventure, which started on February 23, 1994, has moved to a new phase with 5G technology.

Stating that Türkiye’s transition to 5G will be officially announced tomorrow at the ceremony to be held at the Presidential Complex with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Uraloğlu said, “5G service will gradually start in 81 provinces on April 1. We aim to spread 5G service in every point of our country within 2 years.” made his assessment.

Pointing out that the speed of communication will increase with the technology in question, Uraloğlu emphasized that the transformation in this field will not be limited to communication only.

Regarding the contributions of 5G, Uraloğlu said, “With the new technology, there will be radical changes in many areas, from smart transportation systems to autonomous driving, from remote health applications to smart factories, from high-definition media broadcasting to agricultural technologies.” he said.
